Our Mission

Sparta Lodge #357 practices the teachings and principles of Freemasonry. Freemasonry instills in its members a moral and ethical approach to life: it seeks to reinforce thoughtfulness for others, kindness in the community, honesty in business, courtesy in society and fairness in all things. Members are urged to regard the interests of the family as paramount but almost as important, Freemasonry also teaches and practices concern for people, care for the less fortunate and help for those in need.  To disseminate charity; promote the spirit of brotherly love; teach and encourage the idea of peace, harmony and good will among the people and loyalty to the constituted authority of our city, state and country.

The members of Sparta (The Spartans) are diligently working to better their community, their friendships, their families & themselves by learning and practicing the works of the organization of Freemasonry.  We look forward to becoming an integral part of our community and welcome any and all who seek to learn more about us.

We thank you for taking the time to visit our website.  Feel free to contact us if you have any questions in regards to volunteering on one of our community charitable works, the website, or if you are seeking to join the fraternity as a Master Mason or an Eastern Star.  Visit again soon.

Our Founding Principles

The mission of the Masons of Sparta Lodge #357 is to foster personal growth and improve the lives of others. This mission is guided by the enduring and relevant principles of our fraternity:

TRUTH: Freemasons strive for truth, both in their view of themselves and in their dealings with others. Masonry requires high moral standards and its members endeavor to uphold these principles in their public and private lives.  We stay true to our personal code of conduct and ethics - honor, integrity, personal responsibility, and the continuous pursuit of knowledge.

RELIEF: From earliest times Freemasons have been taught to help those in distress without detriment to their dependents, and to give their support to outside charities.  We take responsibility for the well-being of our brothers, our families, and the community as a whole. We provide relief through philanthropy, community involvement, and the delivery of excellent care.

BROTHERLY LOVE: Every true Freemason will show tolerance and respect for the opinions of others and will behave with compassion and understanding to his fellows.  We value respect, freedom, kindness, tolerance, and our differences - religious, ethnic, cultural, social, generational, and educational - and strive for harmony in our individual lives, in our lodges, and in the global community.
